 Accutane or isotretinoin is an acne medication that is prescribed by dermatologist to treat severe acne. There are numerous serious side effects associated with the use of Accutane. In 2005 the maker of Accutane, Roche Pharmaceuticals, updated the label to warn patients and healthcare professionals of an increased risk of suicide associated with the medication.

$12.9 Million Awarded to Plaintiffs Alleging that Accutane Caused IBD |
An Atlantic City court recently handed down a total of $12.9 million to three plaintiffs in lawsuits claiming that Accutane cause of their inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Currently there is no warning on the label of Accutane to advise patients of an increased risk of IBD, despite ever increasing evidence of a link between the use of Accutane and the onset of IBD.
