$12.9 Million Awarded to Plaintiffs Alleging that Accutane Caused IBD
An Atlantic City court recently handed down a total of $12.9 million to three plaintiffs in lawsuits claiming that Accutane cause of their inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Currently there is no warning on the label of Accutane to advise patients of an increased risk of IBD, despite ever increasing evidence of a link between the use of Accutane and the onset of IBD.
 
The manufacturer of Accutane, Roche Pharmaceuticals, claims that there is no connection between Accutane and IBD. Over 500 Accutane lawsuits have been filed against Roche over serious side effects associated with the medication.
