Glutathione Lawsuit
Patients who were hospitalized or left seriously ill after a glutathione injection or IV drip may have a compounded glutathione lawsuit. The FDA traced contaminants to one lot of supplement-grade glutathione. The recalling pharmacies operate in Houston and Austin, Texas.
Compounded glutathione is mixed by pharmacists. Unlike other compounded drugs, the FDA never approved glutathione to be an injectable drug. When the compounding process involves a dietary supplement-grade ingredient intended to be swallowed, impurities from the glutathione ingredient are injected directly into the patient’s bloodstream.
Glutathione lawsuits can run two legal tracks at once:
- Product liability: reaches the supplier and compounding pharmacy for using dietary supplement ingredient-grade products with elevated bacterial endotoxin levels.
- Medical negligence: reaches the clinic, med spa, mobile IV service, or prescriber who put that product into a patient without verifying the ingredient sourcing.
Reich & Binstock has over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical litigation and product defect litigation. Our law firm is a short drive from the recalling pharmacies. Our Glutathione attorneys handle these cases on a contingency fee basis; you don’t pay unless we win.

Glutathione Recall Status: What Federal Regulators Have Confirmed
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Victory Medical Center Pharmacy in Austin recalled three lots on August 5, 2026. Optimal Balance Pharmacy in Houston recalled one lot on August 19, 2026. Centric Compounding in Houston recalled six lots in a notice the FDA published on September 13, 2026. Two of the three are Houston pharmacies.
The CDC reported more than 25 people sickened across at least four states, Texas, Washington, Florida and New York, with at least three hospitalized, in its update of September 11, 2026. The FDA cited at least 30 adverse event reports on August 27, 2026.
The FDA reported that the pharmacies tied to adverse events had all obtained glutathione from a single lot distributed by Medisca Inc., and that Medisca notified the agency on August 20, 2026 that it had warned customers against using its dietary supplement grade glutathione in injectable compounding.
Three Texas pharmacies: Central Compounding Pharmacy, Victory Medical Center Pharmacy, and Optimal Balance Pharmacy issued voluntary nationwide recalls in August and September 20256 after testing found elevated bacterial endotoxin levels. The FDA linked this to one lot of compounded glutathione: Lot number 229536 distributed by Medisca Inc., labeled “dietary supplement grade” ingredients.
The label: dietary supplement grade glutathione is central to this case. The FDA approved glutathione products only for swallowing, not injecting.
The FDA stated that dietary supplement grade glutathione is not an appropriate ingredient to make injectable drugs. The agency received reports from at least 30 patients experiencing adverse events after receiving intravenous glutathione alone or combined with other ingredients. Medisca Inc. had already warned pharmacists not to use its disupplement-grade glutathione in compounding injectable drugs.
The contamination is at the top of the supply chain. That’s why the companies issued a nationwide recall.
Every entry below is drawn from the agency notice that announced it. Current as of September 2026.

This tool does not assess your health or your legal options. Nothing is submitted and no contact information is collected.
Use the name on the vial or the pharmacy invoice, not the name the clinic used for the drip.
Printed on the vial label, the box, or the pharmacy paperwork. Spaces, colons and dashes do not matter. Leave it blank if you do not have it.
This changes who the claim is filed against, so answer for the dose that made you sick.

Myer's Cocktail & Tri-Immune Boost Claims
Most injured patients haven’t heard of a product named glutathione. Centric Compounding’s voluntary nationwide recall covers Myer’s Cocktail, typically given as an IV infusion, and Tri-Immune Boost, usually given as an intramuscular shot.
What Were The Compounded Drugs Used in Your IV Therapy?
IV bars and medical centers rarely sell compounded glutathione under its chemical name. The product name doesn’t change the analysis. What matters is whether you were given a contaminated ingredient. Your receipt and medical records are typically enough for our glutathione lawyers to find out.

Endotoxin Reaction After Glutathione Injection: Not An Ordinary Side Effect
Endotoxin is a fragment of the outer wall of certain bacteria. It survives sterilization, which means a vial can pass a sterility test and still carry elevated bacterial endotoxin levels. All recalled products have the same risk statement: injectable products with elevated endotoxin levels can cause significant medical events, including fever, hypotension, inflammatory reactions, anaphylactic shock, and death. Fever, hypotension, inflammatory reactions, anaphylactic shock, and the following are the reactions that recalling pharmacies received reports for. The CDC update describes one of those patients requiring intensive care for shock and abnormal blood clotting.
Fever, chills and rigors
Sudden fever with uncontrollable shaking is the most frequently reported adverse event, and it often begins before the infusion is finished. Patients describe teeth chattering they cannot stop.
Blood pressure changes and shock
Victory Medical Center Pharmacy reported blood pressure changes. All glutathione recalls warns that dangerously low blood pressure and anaphylactic shock are possible outcomes of elevated endotoxin levels.
Chest pain and racing heart
Tachycardia was reported to Victory Medical Center Pharmacy and chest pain to Centric Compounding. Both frequently prompt an ambulance and emergency room visit.
Severe headache
Severe headaches were reported in connection with all three recalls, and described as distinct from an ordinary migraine.
Body aches and injection site reactions
Victory Medical Center Pharmacy reported body aches and injection site reactions, which point to intramuscular or subcutaneous injection rather than IV alone.
Nausea, vomiting and malaise
Named in all three recalls. Easily mistaken for food poisoning or a virus, which is how these reactions get written off at the bedside.
Adverse Reactions & Symptoms That Have Not Resolved
The CDC reported at least three hospitalizations. Many arrived by ambulance. Emergency room doctors have no way to know that elevated endotoxin levels could have caused significant medical events, including sepsis-like symptoms.
That’s why the infusion receipt, pharmacy receipt, and vial matter as much as the hospital chart. Patients who were treated and released the same day can still have a claim, and chronic severe headaches, light sensitivity, and fatigue weeks later belong in the record too. Our attorneys also handle related IV therapy complication claims and catastrophic injury claims requiring lifetime care projections.
Who Can File a Glutathione Lawsuit
You may qualify to file a compounded glutathione lawsuit if you received any of the following in 2026 and got seriously sick shortly after:
IV glutathione,
Myers’ Cocktail-style infusion,
Tri-Immune Boost, or
a similar immune or detox drip.
The same applies if you received an injection rather than an infusion, or if vials were shipped to your home and you injected them yourself.
The treatment setting does not limit eligibility. We’re filing glutathione lawsuits against wellness clinics, med spas, IV bars, mobile services that inject patients at home or at work, concierge practices, and telehealth platforms that mail vials directly to patients.
Families who lost a loved one after an infusion or injection can also pursue a claim.
Four questions, answered instantly. Nothing is submitted and no contact information is collected.
Select everything you were given. The clinic's marketing name for the drip is fine if that is all you have.
The date of the infusion or injection, not the date you first felt ill.
This decides who the claim is filed against, so answer for the dose that made you sick.
Select everything that applies to you or to the family member who was treated.
Who Is Responsible For The Contaminated Glutathione Recall?
| Party | Which Exposure Route | Likely Claim Type | Texas Damage Caps Apply? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ingredient supplier | Both | Product liability | No |
| Compounding pharmacy | Both | Product liability, health care liability, or both | Depends on the individual case |
| Clinic, med spa or mobile service | Administered doses only | Medical negligence | Yes |
| Prescriber or telehealth platform | Home delivery only | Medical negligence | Yes |
Medisca Inc., the Ingredient Supplier
Medisca distributed the contaminated lots of compounded glutathione. The FDA stated that the recalled lots were labeled with a dietary supplement caution and should not have been used to compound sterile injectable drugs, because ingredients not intended for that use may carry impurities and contaminants, including endotoxins. Chapter 82 treats any company that repackages, labels, and distributes a component as a manufacturer in the right circumstances.
That theory is squarely within the practice of our Texas product liability law firm, and it is not subject to the damage caps that apply to healthcare claims.
The Compounding Pharmacy
Compounding pharmacies are responsible for confirming that all components are appropriate for the route of administration. That quality must be built into drug production, and testing alone should never be relied on to ensure drug quality. Compounders are responsible for ensuring ingredients are manufactured under conditions and specifications appropriate for the intended route of administration.
USP General Chapter 797 governs sterile practices for compounding drugs. This sets standards for sourcing, preparation, endotoxin testing, and release.
Three pharmacies bought a dietary supplement grade product and used it to build injectables. Whether that is framed as a product defect, professional negligence, or both depends on the pharmacy and the facts, and our mass tort lawyers build the claim to survive either characterization.
The Healthcare Provider, Clinic, Med Spa, or Mobile IV Service
Healthcare providers chose the product used, sourced the product, screened the patient, and provided the treatment.
A provider who cannot verify the grade of the active ingredient with the compounding pharmacy should not be injecting it. Claims of this kind run through our Houston medical malpractice practice.
The Prescriber or Platform Behind a Home Shipment
When vials ship to a patient’s door, the prescriber who signed the order still owes duties: evaluate the individual patient, disclose that no FDA-approved glutathione injectable exists, and know where the pharmacy sourced the ingredient. That prescriber also owes notice once a recall is issued. All three pharmacies described contacting patients by phone, mail, or email.
Why You Need a Dual-Purpose Law Firm To File a Compounded Glutathione Lawsuit
Investigations into the healthcare provider, pharmacy, and supplier need to run at the same time while managing different deadlines.
A compounded glutathione claim runs on two tracks at once, and each one points at a different defendant.
The ingredient supplier and the pharmacy that compounded material never meant for injection.
The clinic or prescriber who administered a drug with no FDA-approved version and no verified ingredient grade.
Firms that know only one track leave the other one on the table.
Fewer than two percent of Texas attorneys hold board certification in personal injury trial law. Both founding partners of this firm hold it.
Lead and co-lead counsel in large-scale toxic tort and environmental litigation where causation was the fight, including Deepwater Horizon leadership, the $2.75 billion Texas Opioid MDL and the $2.8 billion Blue Cross Blue Shield antitrust litigation.
Four decades of mass tort and class action work centered on defective drugs and medical devices, with repeated appointments to court-appointed plaintiffs' steering committees in national multidistrict litigation.
Our civil trial law firm handles both. We understand the differences in mass tort and class action, and we’re skilled at navigating both proceedings, national toxic tort claims, pharmaceutical injury cases like the Ozempic litigation, and medical negligence claims out of the same law office.
Evidence That Wins a Glutathione Claim
These cases are proven by tying a specific vial lot to a specific patient on a specific date. What you need depends on how the product reached you.
Clinics and pharmacies don’t have to produce records quickly. Our firm compels this and preserves evidence.
Pick how you received the product, then tick items off on screen or print a blank copy and work through it by hand. Nothing is saved or submitted.

Compensation in a Glutathione Lawsuit
Patients can be compensated for financial and personal losses. This generally includes current and future medical care costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and other damages related to the injury or wrongful death
. When a patient dies, Texas law allows the family to bring a wrongful death claim and the estate to bring a survival action. Our Houston wrongful death attorneys handle those claims alongside the underlying product case, and funeral and burial costs are recoverable.
Tell us what you received, where you received it and what happened afterward. We pull the evidence, evaluate your case, and tell you plainly what you have. There's no fee unless we win.
Deadline to Sue for Glutathione Injuries or Wrongful Death
Deadlines vary by state. The statute of limitations for cases against healthcare providers, pharmacies, or IV infusion facilities is typically what catches victims off guard because pre-suit notice and expert reports are required months before petitions are due.
This is general information about filing periods, not a calculation of your deadline
The state where the infusion or injection was given or product was shipped.
The month and year of the infusion or injection. If a family member died, use the month and year of the treatment.
Legal Process For Filing a Compounded Glutathione Lawsuit
What happens after you call, in order. You don’t need the vial, the lot number, or the name of the compounding pharmacy to start.
- Free consultation: You tell our attorneys what glutathione you received, where you were injected, and what you experienced afterward. We tell you whether you have a case: product, medical negligence, or both.
- Identify the compounding pharmacy and lot number: The product name and lot number come from the medical record, the pharmacy invoice, or the shipping paperwork, and we trace them to the supplier. This is the link that connects a specific vial to a specific patient and date.
- Send preservation letters: We send written demands to preserve affected vials, recalled lot documentation, dispensing/shipping records, and the chart. Medical centers and pharmacies aren’t required to move quickly, so we do this at the beginning.
- Medical records and expert review: Records from the emergency room, hospitalization, labs, and any specialist follow-up are gathered and reviewed by experts.
- Notice and filing: In many states, including Texas, plaintiffs must send a pre-suit notice to any healthcare provider, pharmacy, or other medical defendant.
- Negotiation, and litigation if the settlement offer isn’t fair: Most cases are resolved through settlement negotiations. They’re settled on better terms when the defense knows the firm can and will litigate.
Why Clients Bring Glutathione Contamination Cases to Reich & Binstock
The glutathione litigation will reward firms that have traced contaminants through supply chains before. Our personal injury trial law firm has handled pharmaceutical, product liability, and toxic exposure cases since 1984. The attorneys leading this have done this exact work at the MDL level.
Robert J. Binstock served on court-appointed committees in the following:
- Digitek MDL: centered on a drug defect that injured consumers before the FDA conducted recalls related to it.
- PPA MDL: followed one ingredient through dozens of over-the-counter drugs
- Levaquin and Eliquis: the same structure this outbreak presents with one ingredient lot, multiple compounding pharmacies, and victims across several states.
Dennis C. Reich worked the $2.75 billion Texas Opioid MDL, which targeted every link of the supply chain. He’s been lead and co-lead counsel for many patients harmed by exposure and contaminants. Proving injectable products with elevated endotoxin levels could cause specific illnesses is the core of every glutathione case.
Filing Glutathione Lawsuits in Texas
Texas is the center of glutathione litigation regardless of where patients live. The outbreak was first identified by the Texas Department of State Health Services, and all three recalling pharmacies are Texas companies.
Houston & Harris County
Centric Compounding and Optimal Balance Pharmacy are both in Houston. Cases involving Optimal Balance Pharmacy and Centric Compounding’s recall are brought in Harris County courts, our home venue. Our law office knows the dockets, local rules, and judges.
Houston has one of the densest concentrations of wellness clinics, medspas, IV bars, and mobile IV infusion services in the U.S., clustered around the Texas Medical Center, River Oaks, the Galleria, Montrose, the Heights, Memorial, and the Energy Corridor. Patients who had shock or sepsis-like symptoms are typically transported to hospitals inside the Texas Medical Center. Those records are crucial evidence.
Contact our Houston personal injury trial law firm for a free consultation. Call 713-622-7271.
Austin & Travis County
Victory Medical Center Pharmacy is an Austin compounding pharmacy. Cases involving the Victory Medical Center Pharmacy recall are brought in Travis County district courts. If you were treated with injectable glutathione products or had vials delivered, you can file a lawsuit regardless of whether you live in Central Texas or another state.
Dallas-Fort Worth & North Texas
We’re helping patients in Plano, Frisco, Dallas, and Fort Worth file glutathione lawsuits. Two pharmacies, Optimal Balance Pharmacy and Victory Medical Center Pharmacy, are used for glutathione ingredient sourcing across Texas, while Centric Compounding Pharmacy states it shipped recalled products to patients and prescribers nationwide.
North Texas has a large medspa and IV bar market in Uptown, Highland Park, Southlake, Frisco, and Plano. Since Texas law generally allows cases to be filed where the defendant’s principal office is, North Texas cases can generally be brought in Harris or Travis County.
San Antonio & South Texas
San Antonio faces the same endotoxin exposure risk as Austin. Victory Medical Center Pharmacy regularly supplies compounded injectable drugs from Austin to San Antonio. Medical centers and clinics in Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, and The Dominion market glutathione drips for detox, skin brightening, and immune support.
Other States Affected By The Voluntary Nationwide Recall for Glutathione Products: Filing Glutathione Lawsuits Nationwide
The recall Optimal Balance Pharmacy issued also affected products in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Vermont. This means affected vials with contaminants likely reached Phoenix, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and Salt Lake City. These are all areas with IV bars and mobile infusion services.
Centric Compounding’s recall could cause significant medical events nationwide since it shipped affected products across the country.
While the CDC hasn’t confirmed illnesses here, an epidemiologist predicted the case count will rise.
Our law office handles mass torts and class actions nationally. The defendants in this outbreak are Texas and New York companies. If you were injured in any state, we can file your case.
If you received a glutathione injection or IV drip in 2026 and developed fever, chills, severe headache, dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension), inflammatory reactions, anaphylactic shock or other adverse reactions, keep the vial, packaging, and receipts. Call 713-622-7271 for a free consultation.
Louisiana & Oklahoma
Louisiana and Oklahoma both appear on the notice Optimal Balance Pharmacy issued. Our personal injury trial law firm handles mass torts nationally. This means victims in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa can pursue cases against the three pharmacies through our law office. Our glutathione attorneys can handle your case remotely.
Washington, Florida, & New York
The CDC announcement included illnesses linked to glutathione contaminants in Texas, Washington, Florida, and New York.
New York matters for another reason. The FDA traced the injectable glutathione products used by all three pharmacies to Medisca Inc., a company headquartered in Plattsburgh, New York. While the compounding pharmacies used ingredients labeled dietary supplement grade glutathione, Medisca’s role may add a defendant alongside the compounding pharmacies and the providers.

It doesn't cost anything upfront to hire a glutathione lawsuit attorney. Our law office works on a contingency, so you don't pay any fees unless you recover compensation. Call 713-622-7271 for a free consultation.
-
No, the lot number doesn't have to be on the FDA's current glutathione recall list to file a claim. Only certain lots have been tested and traced back so far. The investigation is ongoing. Report adverse events through FDA MedWatch, and contact a glutathione lawyer at our law offices to determine your legal options.
-
Yes, you can file a claim for contaminated glutathione that was shipped to your house. Potential defendants include the ingredient supplier, the compounding pharmacy, and the prescriber or platform that arranged the shipment. Self-administration does not make contamination your fault.
-
If you got a glutathione shot, you can still file a lawsuit. The CDC has confirmed illnesses in patients who received glutathione intravenously and in patients who received it under the skin or into a muscle. A glutathione injection lawsuit follows the same path since it's the same glutathione ingredient labeled as a dietary supplement grade.
-
If you don't know the pharmacy name for the glutathione injectable drugs you received, our attorneys can use medical records, invoices, pharmacy dispensing records, and shipping records to identify potential defendants.
-
Signing a consent form doesn't waive the responsibility of the supplier or compounding pharmacy. Its effect on the administering provider depends on its terms and on whether that provider met the standard of care for ingredient sourcing and administering a product that wasn't FDA-approved.
-
No, you don't have to be admitted to the hospital to sue for glutathione injuries. Severity affects the claim's value, not whether you can bring one. Patients who were discharged the same day have reported headaches, light sensitivity, and cognitive symptoms that persisted chronically. Endotoxin reactions are also misread as panic attacks or viral illness, which is one reason early discharge doesn't disqualify victims.
There is never a fee unless we recover on your behalf.
Additionally, clients are not obligated to pay expenses if a recovery is not made.
